Way to go when you are stopped by a traffic police in Malaysia
1. Drive as fast as possible, try to outran the police or try to break the road stop blocker. (The police will not even try to get you if you outran them)
2. If you fail, you should park your car as far as possible from their stop. (Most of the times, the cops will be very ‘busy’ doing their ‘saman’ session, so if you are far enough, you might get away slowly)
3. If there is no one around, you wait for them to approach. Do not approach them yourself, as this will show that how scare you are.
4. When they come near you, let them knock on your windows and you gently rolled down the windows.
5. You ask them what it is all about, then they will start the story such as “you didn’t have the belt on” “you are speeding” “Do you know that this road is only 60km per hour only”
6. Denial is great and it works 50% of all time. Tell them “I didn’t speed” “I am looking at my meter the whole time”. Make denials but do not start harshly or cry initially.
7. The police will ask for your driving license, dun immediately give it to them as after you give to them you have no way to pulled away from them as easy as you want.
8. Pretend that you need some time to find them and keep asking what you had done wrong and what can be done to help you.
9. Then the police will start telling some story here and there…. As the stories started, it ends as fast as it started.
10. Then you slowly surprise that you found the driving license, then you slowly pass it to them. When you pass it to them ask “So, apa macam, tak boleh tolong sikit ke”
11. Then the he will answer “You mau I apa macam tolong? Kalau u tolong I, I boleh la tolong you”
12. When you get this instruction, you gently fold the money very neatly just slightly smaller than the driving license and you pass it to the policeman
13. Then the policeman will take your license and check it out and the money hidden behind will slip into his pocket like Houdini does his trick.
14. Remember to take back the license and drive faster than before.
